Much like Job must have wondered about his friends
I wonder from where this hostility comes
Why the anger
Why the need to put me down
I pray to meet each response with love
To turn the other cheek
Yet you do not call me to be a doormat
I give this to you Lord
Soften hearts
Open ears and eyes
Heal the brokenness
Bring light into the darkness
Help me to see you in the other
And to return bitterness with acceptance
Anger with joy
Hate with love
Help me to turn the page to a new day
And a new way
